Title: Re: FC Ute refresh Post by: Wasim on March 01, 2023, 07:42:54 AM I started with a holden rear bar - can't remember what it was off (?) - anyway I fitted to the rear end with no shockers in place to determine where it would hit the shockers and then with some measurements - a cardboard template - using oxygen acetylene - bend the bar - had to adjust a couple of times.

Title: Re: FC Ute refresh Post by: Wasim on June 02, 2023, 04:13:08 PM All the chrome plating has been done - very expensive but very happy. A Class in Lonsdale SA did the chrome work.
All the wiring is finished and tested and the engine is running again. I’ll put the dash back together next week. Next job is the body work - a tiny amount of rust repairs needed and a few small dents. Title: Re: FC Ute refresh Post by: Wasim on October 17, 2023, 02:50:15 PM I’ve been doing the body work for a couple of months - car at some stage was taken back to bare metal ( no red oxide primer anywhere).
The car is reasonably straight and I’ve spent a fair amount of time on the tailgate fitment and headlight surrounds. The front guards were FE - so all the indicator holes needed filling and FC holes added. Inside the back of the Ute was a bugger of a job - 60+ years of things being thrown in the back and that black tar substance used in the factory took a lot of time to get respectable. You are doing some great work there and doing the refurb the right way. I am a fair ways behind you with my ute and have less rust to deal with but there is still a mountain of work to do. I'll be looking to your project for inspiration as mine starts to drag on no doubt. I look forward to watching your ute progress to completion.
