Title: Non Event Post by: weddo on March 16, 2016, 11:30:25 PM Unfortunately Judi and I will not get to the Nationals.
Our intention 8 1/2 months ago was to tour the big island in our 5th wheeler van for 18 months and coincide the QLD part of our trip with the Nationals (without a vehicle). We sustained considerable damage to our van 6 1/2 months ago and have been in Ballarat ever since. Our legitimate claims through insurance have been rejected and we have been waiting over 3 months for a decision from the Ombudsman's panel with no timer frame in sight. We are unable to move (and unable to provide publicly the damage sustained and the unreasonable reason for rejection at the moment) all we can say is that the estimate for repairs was over 103 thousand dollars and we are still battling it out. Ballarat is a lovely area but we have now covered over 16 thousand K's looking around the whole district and beyond and are rather frustrated now. You will all be missed but we will have to make the most of it and post some photos and let you know what's going on. I hope the Ombudsman gives the insurance company a kick in the arse and you have it all sorted soon.
