Title: 1/4 Windows Pressure Springs
Post by: craiga on March 06, 2003, 10:14:41 AM

Does anyone have some 1/4 window pressure springs?

These are used to place frictional forces on the 1/4 window lower mounting shaft and prevent the 1/4 windows moving freely. They create the resistance you can feel when you move the vent windows.

I am looking for two of these: or has anybody found a viable alternative?

Thanks,

Craig.

I think I used some shock absorber bushes in my EJ. They fit neatly over the shaft and give the same 'feel' as the spring. I had to find an alternative to the spring because I broke off some of the threaded section trying to get the nut off. The spring was then too long for me to get the nut back on the shorter threaded section.

I'll have a look if I still have the spring. I also have some spare front doors I might be able to get a spring from.

I am assuming here that the spings in an EJ are the same as an FE/FC.
