Title: Demister Tubes and vent attachements
Post by: Jockster on October 15, 2002, 11:53:04 AM

I am looking for a pair of demister tubes and the plastic fan shaped attachements that attach to the dash to suit a Smiths heater. I am located in South Oz.

Hi Jockster,

Welcome to the forum.

If you contact Ed Ho forum username "Ed" he has remade the vents in fibreglass.

Cheers,

Craig.

Hi Jockster,
There was one of the site visitors who was going to get some made recently. I left my number with him but have not heard from him in a while.
Maybe some one else knows more !! as I was after the same thing.

Hi Jockster, Chris,

Ive got a few of these vents made up in fibreglass, with fitting instructions.

Chris, I spoke to you a while ago about this, and i did make you a set, I thought I left you a message, however in the meantime I had lost your number.. anyway to overcome that bit of communication breakdown.. "I have those vents you ordered"

you can call me on the following numbers.

bh (02) 9209 4255
mob 0404 848 774
email edho@nsw.fefcholden.org.au

regards

Ed

PS  I couldnt refab the heater to hose connection though.  The original is rubber, perhaps somebody like Obsolete Rubber could do this?

I tried in fibreglass but it looked crap and was a PITA.
If anybody has one of these I would love to have it.

PPS  Looked at a Smiths heater last week, but it was probably out of a pommy car of simlar era.  thanks Ken for that info on heaters.. again
;)

:)Thanks guys for your replies and suggestions.

Ed, I will phone you during the week in regard to the heater vents . I am using a full 12 volt electrical fan heater/demister setup so I will be making up the bottom hose connections anyway, the top looked a bit harder without a template.

Brad, I am located in Mount Gambier, so it's a little far to come for a meeting, but I may join as a remote member anyway. I am currently President of Lake City Rodders, (have a very slow rod project gradually taking shape) and a life member of SE Street Machines. There are quite a few FC's around Mt Gambier in various stages of modification so I might put a few more guys onto the site. Hope to catch up with you soon

Cheers

G'day Ed
I'll have to buy some copies of Cruisin mag, I didn't know my car had graced those pages, I was making sure that our other members got their cars in.
I will contact you about the air vents soon, but am working out of the workshop at present so can't really access the phone in business hours.
Cheers
