Title: Windlacing for FE
Post by: FE_UTE on August 20, 2002, 10:49:42 AM
G'Day all
The windlacing in my FE ute is starting to disintegrate.I have checked with a couple of good trimmers over here in Perth with no luck. The only windlace that is available is from Rare Spares. This is a single colour dark green, the one in my ute is a lighter green with a dark fleck.
Does anyone know if this is available in the east and if so the supplier

Hi,

I recently got all the windlacing I needed from a trimmer supply shop in Carlisle (Perth).  I'll look up the address and post it (if I can find it).  A trimmer from Rockingham gave me a sample card of windlacings available and there was about 15 - 20 different colours.  I chose white (bad mistake) and he had enough in stock to do the whole car.

Ok, I am quite sure this is a silly question, but how do you know how much windlacing you need?  I assume it is quite different for a sedan to a wagon (And I am curious to find out both quantities).  And where do you find out what the colour specs/numbers for windlacing are for your particular car?

Thanks Craig,
Do you know if there is a colour list for the windlacing as well?  And how on earth do you remember where all those past dsicussions are??

All you have to have is a sense of deja vu, which is easy when you're an addict to the forum ::)

There's a button at the top of the page that looks like a magnifying glass.  This takes you to a page where you can do a keyword search of our voluminous archives of old posts.

cheers
