Title: Air-Con questions
Post by: sgo on July 06, 2006, 09:42:41 AM
Do we have any Air-con technitions that can answer a few questions here?
I'm trying to install an old under-dash unit to a new compressor etc.

An older evaporator unit can be used with new type compressor. Just need to match the receiver/dryer and TX valve to meet the compressor specs.

Thanks for the reply.
But that leads into another question.
The TX valve is atached to the evaporator, so how do I know if it matches the compressor, and is it just a matter of changing it if need be?
The other queries I have are:
Where do I plumb in a valve to fill the system?
I have one hose-end fitting that attaches to the compressor, that has a valve fitted, would that be all that is needed?
Also the wiring loom I'm using is VP Commodore and has a connection for a pressure switch on one A/C hose. Do I need to run a pressure switch, if so where to fit it, or can it just be by-passed it altogether?  ???
