Title: brake booster
Post by: Liam Moloney on August 03, 2002, 08:57:01 AM
Hi.
In my Fe sedan, i have a VH 40 booster mounted under the front gaurd. I was hoping to put a vn booster and master cylinder on the firewall bue have since been told that you can put dual circuit through a VH 40 boster,  I dont know alot about it and wanted some advice before i try to work it out myself .  Also is their a proportional valve that has to be fitted to equalise the drum/disc combo.
thanx Liam

Liam.  this is correct, the VH 40 is used with a twin circuit master cylinder, the front brakes are boosted and a proportioning valve is used to adjust the rear brakes.

liam i currently own an fc holden which is extensivly modified i am running 4 wheel discs but it should still run allright with fc drums allround. get a datsun 2ooB brake booster and fit a commodore master cylinder these are a perfect fit with only minor mods to get them to fit hard up against the firewall my car has a VL commodore motor in it and its a manual i used a datsun bluebird clutch master cylider but this was only because it hit the inlet manifold hope this helps ;D
