Title: lowering and twin carbs
Post by: revolva58 on March 05, 2006, 12:24:15 PM
Hey,
just after some advice. i got a fc wagon , bit of a lumpy cam , im not really mechanically minded. i bought  because it looks hot anyway. it needs to be lowered. its got lowering blocks on the back but sits a little high at the front , nothing to freakish but it annoys me a bit, i asked my mechanic if he could lower the front and said not to as it will ride a bit rough , whats he mean and should i get it done anyway , also ive got a twin carby set up but currently its just a single strommie. if i get the twins put on , is going to be a drama keeping it tuned and is going to cost me shitloads more in petrol? i just want it to cruise a bit better and have a bit more acceleration when i want it.
any advice would be great.
cheers .....paul

If you get properly lowered springs or drop-spindles, there shouldn't be much of a compromise with ride quality. Keep your old gear and if the ride is not to your liking refit the old gear. If you chop/cut your springs you will probably get that bobby-headed dog effect.

I have a HR front end , and purchased some new springs to lower the old girl 2" , they only cost me $115  from a speed shop
