Title: Wrecks in SA
Post by: DagsFC on February 16, 2006, 09:40:33 AM
Hi Guys,

Thought I would share these pics with you.
They were taken up north SA on a property near Kimba.

Enjoy :)
Darren.

Great photos Darren.

They look so peaceful, don't they?

Cheers

Interesting that the FC on the right has had electric wipers fitted at some stage.  Did you check what front end it had in it?

Nice pics.
Still lots of bits worth saving on that pair, though sometimes the best part about cars like those, is that they make great subject matter for classic Aussie landscapes.
Thanks for sharing them with us.
Regards
Alex

It looks like the FC also has a Nasco Windscreen Washer Bottle still fitted to it. :)
Great Pics Darren

Hi Guys.
Great pics, Darren.
Have a close look under the grille of that FE. Could that be a bracket for a crank handle? It is exactly where the bracket is on the FE of David Mitchell who was in the Tassie club. His was fitted from new with a crank handle for flat battery starts. Ken & a few other have seen the car. It was at one of the Nats. Also, it has some weird cut outs on the top of that radiator panel. Would love a close look at that car.

looks to me like those things would be worth saving complete, stuff all rust.
however they do make a nice australian landscape, makes you wonder sometimes what is nicer to look at, a wreck in the bush or if it was rebuilt to show condition.
its about time the ones beyond repair were heritage listed to stop those scrap trucks from wasting them and destroying Australian history.
