Title: Engine painting
Post by: fccool59 on January 19, 2006, 07:26:11 AM
I know this has been covered a few times before but I couldnt find it,
I am painting my motor in 2k, I was going to give it a quick acid clean, prepsol, then 2k etch, then 2k 2 in 1 primer filler.
Is the primer filler ok to use on a engine or does it have a lower temperature of distruction?

also, this might sound silly but its been a while since I built a motor,
Do you nead a sealer on the welsh plugs when youy put them in, if so what would you use, would permatex gasket sealer work?

Its good stuff ''stag that is'' Ive used it for years. As for the engine paint I can't see why you would have a problem with using the 2k primer/filler on the engine.
