Title: O/T Licence Plates.
Post by: customFC on January 12, 2006, 06:29:54 AM
Yeah.....I know this is off topic, that's why I placed the O/T in the heading.
Thought some might like to see my collection of license plates on my garage wall.

I think we need another board for OFF TOPIC items so the diehards don't get upset with me.

Alex

Alex...without adding to a potential OFF TOPIC war....I did notice that some of those plates had an 'F'  and an 'E' and a 'C' and even saw a '58'...so I guess it's sort of relative  (lol)

Nice collection.

There is a section called ( Other Images ) I think....so I guess you could post there and no one could complain.

Nah...wer'e all good guys and gals....no one has a problem......do we people.......?

Thanks for Sharing

Hey Blown FC
I generally try to get plates with a 56, 57,58 or 59 in them. I break that rule if it is a cool plate/good price/a gift from a friend.
The 'Other Images' section should still be FE/FC related.
Thanks for the nice comments.
Regards
Alex

Alex, I think you are pretty safe posting O/T stuff in the Rants and Raves section.
If there are any complaints RET or myself can move it there.
Nice collection BTW.

Nice plates Alex.  I also collect plates (about 750 :-\).  This one is a Dealer plate from Queensland for the year 1959.  Some other states may call these Trade plates.  I like to think it spent a bit of time on some nice new Holdens and some 'just traded' second hand FJ's and FE's.  Truth is I don't know which caryard it came from, but I consider this plate to be FE-FC related, so it isn't TOO off topic.

... and I've also got this one.  Of course, being a USA plate, the original intention would have been nothing to do with Holdens, but it still looks pretty cool.  I might be interested in parting with this one.  Send me a PM if anybody is interested.

Nice collection Alex.....!! Looks like you've got plenty!!

I've only got the one plate in my collection, an SSEHCC club plate I bought at auction a few years back when the new vinatge plates came in. ;)

I've just come back from holidays, and while away I visited a mate of mine on the Gold Coast. He's just finished building a US-style diner in his shed.....

and this is one way his made use of some of his plate collection.....

I was going to email them to you anyway, but since you started this topic, I thought I'd just post 'em here ;)

Cheers
Les....
