Title: carby/brake m/c. woes Post by: Rabbitoh on November 18, 2005, 10:24:06 AM woe #1: I have a problem with lack of initial oomph when accelerating under load. I Suspect a gummed up carby. What is the best cleaning solvent to use for a dismantled carby?
woe #2: despite many attempts to tighten the pipe union, I have a slight weeping from the brake master cylinder where the large brass union screws in. Tried another washer, no luck. Is it something to do with the machined grooves on the face of the master cyl. outlet not matching the washer face? Heat up the copper washer with a blow torch, let it cool and then fit it to the master cylinder. This will work with new or old copper washers as long as they are in good condition ;) ACE 8) |
