Title: Fuel Sender Gasket Post by: griffo on October 05, 2005, 07:37:16 AM Just removed the fuel sender for a clean up and it needs a new gasket
the fixing screws also need new seals , Can onyone tell me what type of material I should use and where do you get it ? Griffo. Title: Re: Fuel Sender Gasket Post by: Glenn 'Stinky' Stankevicius on October 05, 2005, 10:05:48 AM I just made a new gasket for mine out of some petrol resistant thin rubber sheet. It's probably 2-3mm thick, made a template from what was left of the old one.
You should be able to pick up an offcut from Clark Rubber for next to nothing, unless someone else has a better idea. Title: Re: Fuel Sender Gasket Post by: FCwagon on October 05, 2005, 07:39:00 PM Hi Griffo,
Rare Spares sell the gaskets but the screw seals I doubt you'll get anywhere. The original screws are alloy with a soft centre and are designed to complete the electrical circuit. I used small fibre washers with a small metal washer on top and all operates well. cheers, Leigh Title: (Re: Fuel Sender Gasket Post by: griffo on October 07, 2005, 09:51:18 AM Thanks Stinky, called in at clark rubber today and got me some of that rubber ( $ 2.50 ) cut out a gasket and wacko! all fixed .
