Phenomenal!   :)

What's that bloody Vauxhall doing there?  Maybe they should have called it the "Victa"

Thanks, Alex

Martin

That last photot of the FE engine bay answers a long asked question, as it is the first photo I have seen that shows the screws holding the bonnet catch plate to the body.  The screws along the grille do not have washers under them, unlike the screws holding the bonnet catch plate to the guards and radiator support panel which do have washers under them.

I may be wrong, but isn't that a FB/EK in front of the FE in the first pic ?   If so, what are they doing building an FE with a leter FB/EK at the same time ?

Curious ?

Am I wrong or just un-educated ?

Hi Mark,
The car in front is a Vauxhall.
Cheers,

You are correct Mark - you are wrong  ???

It is a Vauxhall Victor - assembled in Australia by GMH. 1.5 litre, 4 cylinders. Smaller body than the FE Holden.

Hence my pun about the "Victa" (of the lawnmower variety).

Heya there Alex,

Absolutely SENSATIONAL photos you got there !! :D That last photo with the production line workers working on the FE's engine bay made me think of how 'they don't make em like they used to' lol. :P

The photos I'd say were taken around early 1957 as the Vauxhall Victor in the first photo is a very early F-series Victor with the exhaust pipes exiting through the rear bumper corners. You can see where the exhaust exits just below the left rear taillight.

Bring on more photos Alex !!! ;D
