Title: adjusting Holley carb
Post by: Dave_EH on September 20, 2005, 08:18:21 AM
Can someone outline how to tune/adjust a Holley 350 two barrel carb - I understand it is very easy.

I pic would be great if possible to show mixture screw locations.

hi dave from memory when first tuning my 350 i turned the mixture screw all the way in then backed it out 1.5 turns i was informed that it was a good place to start  then i just tuned it by ear. seemd to work ok, never had any real problems with it. this was over 20 years ago :-/
but im sure there is a better way

Dave,

Read this - http://www.holley.com/data/TechService/Technical/Carburetor%20Tech%20Info.pdf

and this one http://www.chevyhiperformance.com/howto/45638/

They'll have everything you need to know.

The mixture screws only set the idle air/fuel ratio, you'll need to fiddle with main jets and power valve settings to get it exactly right. Holleys also need the float level set just right, just remove the plug on the side of the fuel bowl and adjust until fuel just trickles out.

Cheers,

Craig.
