Title: FC Ute in Hobart/Yellow CAD FC in Adelaide
Post by: Trevor_B on September 17, 2005, 07:46:13 AM
Been busy with work has meant some travelling this week... saw a dark Blue FC Ute in Hobart on Monday afternoon and a stunning FC Yellow CAB in Adelaide on Thursday. Good to see the interstate  FC's are alive.

The Yellow CAB was outside a Panel shop, granted my taxi was going at 60kmh but the shine look great. Looked like a standard FC with that typical orange colour of the old style yellow cab - anybody know about this car??

Hi Trevor.
Did the Blue ute have mags & buckets?
If so, that car is one I don't actually know the owner of, but is a shite hot little number. I have never been able to pin it down, but it goes like stink! It has a V6 apparently, has the badges too. But, when I last saw it, it didn't sound like a V6, more like a Hot straight 6. Maybe an RB30 or something. Whatever it runs, the car goes VERY well.

Also, I think the Yellow Cab was on another thread here a few days ago.

Rob, I think I've seen the blue FC ute. The V6 badge is on the tailgate. It has 14" dragway mags. If its the same one I'm thinking of, the paint is fairly worn.

Like you, I felt it didn't sound like a V6. I'm pretty sure it has rear drums too. I followed it into South Hobart a little while ago.

Hi Rob,
Couldn't say if it had mags as was going towards Hobart at speed while I was going towards the airport in a taxi.

It did have silver wheels so could have been mags - one of those occasions when you get a 2 second look.

Checked the site for recent comments re the Yellow CAB but could not find anything.

Hi Trevor & Josh.
Yes, Josh. That's the one. Little bit "Shabby". That is what also bugs me, is I think it lives in South hobart & I can't find it. I live there!

Trevor, next time you are down, let me know. I can show you a few old Holdens! Here is a link to my street.

Also, a link to the Taxi I was talking about. Obviously it isn't the one you saw in SA.

Trevor,

You may have seen the Yellow Cab in Adelaide on your trip from the airport to the city - the (Adelaide) Yellow Cabs head office is on the route.  It is frequently on display at a service station site on Pulteney Street in the city.

Here's a link to a previous post about this car
