Title: O/T: Hotrod pics
Post by: Ol_Girl_58 on September 10, 2005, 10:58:54 AM
Hi Guys,

Okay okay, I know these pics aren't FE/FC related, but I wanted to share some recent pics I took of some cars from the Early Ford Club of Tasmania. The only tangent that comes to mind is that the pics were taken by a guy who owns an FC!

Let me set the scene.

It was last sunday. I had just finished work, and was trudging home in my faithful Telstar when I caught a glimpse if these cars parked at the side of the road. Of course I had to stop, gaze in awe at the visual impact of the cars, then realise how stupid I was for not having my digicam with me.

I drove home as fast as a speeding Telstar can manage, found my cam, and went back for a second look.

The town is New Norfolk, a history rich, sleepy town,  roughly 40 minutes from Hobart, Tasmania.

I hope you enjoy the pics.

Regards,

Josh

The high-boy is perhaps my favourite. You should've seen the drivers' neck when he took off! He's asking for for some serious whiplash...

What I would give for a quick blat around the block in that... maybe I'd let the owner sit in my FC...

Another. The owner remarked that he started with the fenders only, and built the car around them.

 Norm  :)

PS. hey Rob ,  the last one , am I wrong , or is it a bit familiar ?

Last.

I love old cars, but more to the point I admire the individuals responsible for creating them, who persevere and sacrifice many things in order to achieve that final goal.

I hope you enjoyed the 'tour'.

Regards,

Josh

Hey Norm,

I could be wrong, but I thought the green one resembled a Ford Pilot, as opposed to a Chev Sloper?  ???

Nice pics Josh.
In my experience, rodders are very obliging. If you ask for a ride, many times they will oblige. I have ridden in many rods, and even got to drive a Model A roadster.

Alex

Unreal .
Heres a bit of insight into my makeup , The yellow 38 Ford is what I spent my toddler / childhood / youth / teenage years in but it was chocolate brown with a 327
and toploader ,Exhaust had no mufflers with flared tailpipes (ah those were the days of no noise restrictions) Apparently as a kid I used to be scared of V8s ,Something must have changed in my teenage years hehe.

Hey Alex,

Thanks for the heads up about rodders. I was eager to ask the owner of the bucket if I could have a seat inside. I spent too much time taking photos. I was so absorbed in taking them that by the time I finished, they were leaving! I'll keep it in mind.

Harko, what a life you must've led, hey, growing up around hot cars and rods. Nice to see you've switched to the 'correct' side though.  ;D

Also good to know your childhood 'V8 anxiety' didn't follow you into adulthood.  ;)

Regards,

Josh.
