What response do you get from the farmers when you wander in from the road with your camera? Regards Alex Title: Re: Farm wrecks Post by: FE_UTE on August 30, 2005, 08:48:30 AM Alex...I never go on a farm with a camera without an invite
A couple of mates and I put a story in a country paper about us and our cars(different models, all old Holdens) a couple of years ago.Put a wanted bit in the story as well We got around 250 replies from all over the state and we are still getting up to the far out places as time permits.....Bloody great fun , have a blast with the farmers and stay overnight at the local pubs in the towns sometimes as well. This gets a few more invites as you chat to the locals...Amazing what turns up with an invite, camera and a set of tools....and a beer Gary Title: Re: Farm wrecks Post by: customFC on August 30, 2005, 09:02:54 AM Damn....now that sounds like a whole lot of fun.

Title: Re: Farm wrecks Post by: FE_UTE on August 30, 2005, 10:02:51 AM Picked this motor up a couple of weeks ago. Had a job about 7 hours north of Perth. This bloke rang me 2 years ago after reading the bit in the paper. He said he had an engine from a rolled FC ute with headers on it and did I want the engine.
I told him that it would be a fair while before I got up his way. Anyhow rang him on the way back from the job as I had a trailer. No problem he said and the engine would be ready to load when I got there. A set of Jack Meyers headers and morning tea...too early for as beer (http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v162/58feute/Ute%20Stuff/DCP_1196.jpg) Title: Re: Farm wrecks Post by: nicko on August 30, 2005, 10:25:09 PM one of the fantastic bonuses of headers on a grey is with a twin system they sound amazingly like a v8 ,you know how ford 6's with twin pipes sound like v8 but red motors with twin's dont well greys do when useing the cast iron headers.
by the way if that motor has headers fitted then maybe it has been worked and has other goodies lurking inside :P cheers Nick |
