(http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v124/flamedcrankster/patina.jpg) Ohh...BTW, I stole these pics from Craig. :-X Regards Alex Title: Re: Grey power Post by: nicko on August 22, 2005, 10:51:54 AM ford console 6cyl have a similar look to a grey motor from 10 feet away and also have very similar accessories like the two bolt rocker cover and twin carbs were available for them as were the alloy tappet covers,on drivers side the main diff was dizzy at or near the front of block where grey's are at the back.
Title: Re: Grey power Post by: 4hammers on August 22, 2005, 11:25:11 AM That looks VERY Grey to me. Have a look at that rocker cover. As Nicko said, it has the bolts on top, not along the side. Also, correct me if I am wrong, the extractors look like the correct Grey spacing. Different to the Red motors.
Also, the width of the area on the top of the head, on the carby side is too big for a Red. Just right for a Grey motor. Then there is the heater plug at the front end of the head (About 10cm back). Again, looks Grey to me, FB EK head actually. In that second shot, it DOES have a red. 186S headers as well & a red style rocker cover. Rob J (p.s. Got myself a new LCD 17 inch screen, MAN it makes things clear :o) Title: Re: Grey power Post by: TorqueFC on August 23, 2005, 10:17:46 AM whats with that water neck?? looks like a red item, are these interchanagable/or are repro ones available???
Title: Re: Grey power Post by: craiga on August 23, 2005, 10:33:40 AM Darcy,
Red and grey water necks are interchangeable. My sedan runs a red with a grey water neck, so I'm sure it would work the other way round no problems. The grey neck goes straight up, the red neck goes out the side. Cheers, Craig. |
