Title: FC Door lock Post by: REDMR2RED on August 18, 2005, 07:46:25 AM WANTED: FC Driver's Door Lock
I'm after a driver's side FC door lock (preferably with the key) in good condition plus the metal slide that holds it in. I'm hoping to get a locksmith to key it alike to my ignition and passenger door lock. The Ute only has a passenger lock and I'm in the habit of going to the driver's door (as with my other cars) to get in, only to have to walk around to the passenger side to un-lock the door and slide across. thanks Kevin Title: Re: FC Door lock Post by: FC58q on August 18, 2005, 11:16:29 AM Hi
why don't u install central locking and u wont need a key for driver side plus it is more security with a imobilizer built in I am fitting them to both of my vehicles and when the panel van is finished it will get one also. cheers Ray Title: Re: FC Door lock Post by: 20.4_seconds on August 18, 2005, 10:25:40 PM hey Ray,
I'm sure this has been discussed earlier but i will ask anyways, what brand of central locking are you installing? and where from....Its prob the only other modern bit after the stereo I will be putting on the wagon and would like to hear some feedback on the topic. Shane I use Jaycar p/no LR8810 and LR8812. Go to Jaycar.com.au and type these numbers into the search box. My sell price to you is the same as their current special price, so buy them locally or you'll be paying for freight as well. Install a decent immobiliser with a c/lock output and you'll have a decent system. The one you found on their site (LR8839) is so new it wasnt avail on last months order (In fact it STILL doesnt have a wholesale listing at all - just checked a minute ago) so I havnt tried them yet, but likely to be from the same manufacturer so should be ok. Thats if you only want c/l with remote, but I recommend immobiliser as well to all my customers for only a couple of extra dollars. LA8970 is a good unit, with code-hopping remote. This is the one we use. I offer 15% discount to HRI members, unless its on special then its their special price only, due to small the margin they give us on them. Hope this helps Cheers Chris Title: Re: FC Door lock Post by: 20.4_seconds on August 19, 2005, 06:04:05 AM Cool thanks for that shane, I buy a fair bit of stuff from my local Jaycar so it won't be a drama...when I get around to that part of the car!! in about 400 years!!! ;) ;)

I'm not too lazy ;) ;) ;) that I can't insert a key and turn it. LOL It's the walking around and sliding across I'm trying to avoid. ;D Kevin Title: Re: FC Door lock Post by: slim on August 19, 2005, 09:56:20 AM I have a door lock and backing plate with Key. Send me a PM. Cheers SLIM
