colour will be Fountain Blue and India Ivory. the body had alot of pitting so it took a fair while to get it looking half ok,but all being well the painter should be in the next two weeks to do the deed. Title: Re: fc wagon Post by: fccool59 on November 10, 2005, 08:40:21 AM mate, you are way ahead of me and ive been working on mine every weekend ( when its not raining) since easter.

fe 225 28838-a trim 245-703 paint 207-745 rpo 256-7698 body no. 6.3514.b first motor no.L303886. Title: Re: fc wagon Post by: RET on November 15, 2005, 12:37:30 AM just40, Graham,
That ID plate suggests the car was originally Castle Grey over Etna Maroon, which the Paint numbers bear out as well. (The boot-lid looks like the original body colour, and that paint number should be 207-7457). Are you sure about that Body ID number? Both the engine and chassis numbers suggest the car was manufactured October 1956, but that ID belongs to a much later vehicle. Perhaps it's FE-225-8838-A ? Here's a link ($2) to a pic of a car that's the mirror reverse (Etna Maroon over Castle Grey) - don't want to hijack your thread with photos of other people's cars... cheers RET Title: Re: fc wagon Post by: graham_fuller on November 15, 2005, 01:36:58 AM Thanks Ret.
Cheers, Graham Title: Re: fc wagon Post by: Just40 on November 15, 2005, 07:19:54 AM the body number is very faint to read, but that looks right to me.
Title: Re: fc wagon Post by: Just40 on November 29, 2005, 09:31:08 AM anyway back to the wagon, this car was so badly pitted.
when it was washed after 20 years it tore the cloth to bits.but it is coming up ok as a daily driver.(http://i8.photobucket.com/albums/a19/just40/DCP_0936.jpg) should all be done by the end of this week. (http://i8.photobucket.com/albums/a19/just40/DCP_0944.jpg) i ordered the rubber kit 3 weeks ago,so hope it will be here this friday. Title: Re: fc wagon Post by: Just40 on December 03, 2005, 06:32:48 AM one rear door to go.
(http://i8.photobucket.com/albums/a19/just40/DCP_0991.jpg) but still waiting for my rubber kit. (http://i8.photobucket.com/albums/a19/just40/DCP_0995.jpg) Title: Re: fc wagon Post by: FC-V8 on December 03, 2005, 06:45:01 AM Just40

Like others, I am astounded at the pace with which you are working. Top effort. Ol_Girl_58 Title: Re: fc wagon Post by: Ed on December 13, 2005, 09:25:13 PM nice work on the wagon... very very fast.
were the rear windows easy to put in? do they require sealant as well? Cheers Ed Title: Re: fc wagon Post by: Just40 on December 14, 2005, 10:12:50 AM we hade the 3 windows in about 30 mins flat, steve one of my mate was in the glass game for 35 years so he had them in quick as,have not put any sealant in yet and i dont think we will have too.
Title: Re: fc wagon Post by: Blown_FC on December 14, 2005, 11:37:11 PM Just 40, well done on the rebuild....looking real nice. I'm also at the point of putting my car back together and am getting more impatient the closer I get.
The only advice I can say, is that you have done a beautiful job so far, the car is near on 50 years old, just a couple more months or weeks or days or whatever it takes you won;t matter in the scheme of things as long as you get it right. There would be nothing worse than rushing now, and stuffing something up, like that beautiful paint work ! When something won;t fit after 10 goes.....give up, clsoe the shed door, and go inside and have a beer ! Come back tomorrow night ! Well done....it's a credit to you ! Mark Title: Re: fc wagon Post by: Just40 on December 15, 2005, 08:29:51 AM thanks for the peep talk Blown_FC,i am happy so far,but like i said it,s just a daily driver, the body was just to pitted.
it looks ok but not so good up close, and it has not cost all that much so far.and at some time it has also been in a hail storm with a lot of small dints showing up when we buffed it.but like i say,i am ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D Title: Re: fc wagon Post by: Just40 on December 15, 2005, 08:31:44 AM by the way what do you think of my number plates i have for the 2 cars, 59-hfc for the wagon and 57-hfe for the fe sedan.

(http://i8.photobucket.com/albums/a19/just40/fc%20holden/DCP_1050.jpg) the door are put on but only to line the door catches up,next we have to take them back off to do the rubbers.
