I know of a wreckers on the highway that runs through the Snowy mountains. It was featured in an Restored Cars magazine a few years ago. It had quite a few old Holdens there, including an old FE ute, knocked about, but complete. It was a BIG yard!! :o Know to try & remember where ??? The name of the plce starts with CO?? :-/ It was something like Coolum, Colum, Coobar or very close. I know it was high up & BLOODY cold, cause the day I wanted to visit on my way back South, the road was VERY SNOWY & I chickened out (Ever tried to drive a 350 HQ Monaro with a 2.78 diff, 10 inch tyres & no demister in the snow???). :-[ If anyone can help (I can't find a map in my house!!) jog my memory, I might even remember the name of the fella who owned it. Hope this helps, 4hammers Title: Re: holiday Post by: craiga on May 12, 2002, 09:35:34 AM I would guess the place your talking about is COOMA http://www.whereis.com/search/email_map_redirect.jhtml?id=132033, just before the NSW Snowy Mountains (heading from Sydney). The wreckers is on the main road I think, but it shouldn't be hard to find.
It could be Flynn's on the Monaro Hwy? (Thanks to Yellowpages on line for that one ;)) Title: Re: holiday Post by: 4hammers on May 12, 2002, 10:47:34 AM That's the one Craig A!! ;D
I remember the other reason I wanted to go for a cruise there. Monaro Hwy in a Monaro :D . Sad, but true! 4hammers |
