Title: FJ ute at a local tip!! Post by: peterwmh on May 21, 2005, 12:10:10 AM Hi all,
Hopefully I've mastered the photo attachment workings! Here's a FJ ute I found dumped at a nearby country tip. Spent a few weekends getting anything of value off it, it's amazing what people toss out! Thouight you guys might like to see the photo! Post by: peterwmh on May 21, 2005, 01:20:08 AM Yes it was a shame, this one was well beyond salvation, the rust worm had taken hold well and truely, and the Council bulldozer had fixed the doors and panels for good too!! here's a shot of the engine, it was complete I removed the head and manifolds to make it lighter to get out, it was still flamin' heavy let me tell you!! Was an original Dec 1953 engine too (eng no around 131500 I think it was), so it was a good find, actually the bores cleaned up quite well, we had rain between the time I removed the head to the next weekend when I got back there, hence the water in the bores!

Nice find. Regards Alex Title: Re: FJ ute at a local tip!! Post by: peterwmh on May 22, 2005, 08:15:28 AM They're gone now, it's merely a remnant now of it's former self! The door handle scrach plates were the best bit on the ute, I had removed them by the time I took these shots on my second visit!
