Title: You want rare, Boy's? YOU GOT RARE!!! Post by: 4hammers on May 19, 2005, 08:22:26 AM Hi all.
Have a look at this little beauty I scored today. NOS, never used & in perfect condition. Never seen one before! Look at that lion, seen it before? Yep, FE FC Horn button. This was made for us! May see what it takes to repo them. Rob J Title: Re: You want rare, Boy's? YOU GOT RARE!!! Post by: 4hammers on May 19, 2005, 08:23:16 AM Nice floor mat, just needs a clean. No wear at all.

so its an original period floor mat?????????????? Never seen or heard of one. Does anyone have advertising info from the period? Great score!! Cheers, Craig. Title: Re: You want rare, Boy's? YOU GOT RARE!!! Post by: 4hammers on May 19, 2005, 08:38:15 AM Don't know, Craig ???
It is old, I know that. The old fella who had it, said he got it years ago. Haven't seen any adverts regarding it. It is the old rubber sstuff. But it has beautiful texture, is totally unworn & the lion looks beautiful. Will try & find out more. Rob J Title: Re: You want rare, Boy's? YOU GOT RARE!!! Post by: mcl1959 on June 06, 2005, 08:21:20 AM The September 1959 issue of "Accelerator" shows the Nasco floor mat in an actual picture rather than a drawing or caricature - it is a rectangular mat with raised dots on it and the corners are emphasized with lines to highlight them. It is quite common as it went right through to HR (maybe even further). I have never seen the mat you have, either for real or in advertisements. I doubt it would be Nasco since all Nasco accessories are shown in the advertisements somewhere in the official GMH catalogues.
I would say a 60's period accessory. Ken Title: Re: You want rare, Boy's? YOU GOT RARE!!! Post by: 4hammers on June 06, 2005, 08:49:48 AM Hi Ken.
I would agree with you. I didn't think it was Nasco, or I am sure at some stage one of the forum clan would have come across an advert. I would think it is aftermarket, but a bloody good job. The detail is amazing. The lion has raised lines through him & looks perfect. I am not going to use it, as it would just be a waste on a daily driver. Maybe I should send it to the auction. Do I have time left, Ken? Rob J |
