Thanks Sarge, it's going (fingers x'ed) in the panel shop on monday and then home.

Did I mention I'm going for an eye op sometime in June which will allow me to get my licence for the first time (at 34!)

So 6 months on my L's then my P's... how many times am I gonna be picked up by the cops for not taking my son's L's off the car before driving?

Nice colour. Any idea what it is? Goes well with the standard chrome on the sides.

Update: The op is scheduled for the 16th September

Just went and fitted the spacers to my front end (thanks stinky :) ) and got the whitewalls fitted to the rear

Disregard the flat front tyre, but I think it looks much better, the 14" wheels really fill out the guards. Will get some ww's for the front soon.

Are you going to retain the black wheels?
I see the panel shop is poking and proding the panels.

hey Alex, few options for the wheels, black with chrome nuts and centre caps, HK caps, or some custom full wheel caps, not MOON's though! :P

What with this NRMA crap with repairers at the moment there should be plenty of time to get stuck into it.... seeing as they've told the NRMA to stick their new quoting scheme in their freckle....... work sure has dried up.

I see you have posted on here a day after your operation so I guess it was a success ,Congrats and great stuff.

Looking good! The uncluttered "standard" style is a refreshing change.

Um, not quite....

Should have mentioned, few weeks after the first post in this thread, the doc pushed me back.

Due to go back and see hime on the 10th Oct... though I won't be wasting my time going down there if he has no good news.

Car will be nosed and decked, will leave the rear guard spears and the ones on the front guards, all else will be gone.... even the boot lock is destined for the parts box.

That's the way SRV, I got a bit worried when you put it up for sale.
I would suggest removing the car from said "panel shop", I have been in the same situation and tolerated it for 2 years before pulling the car out. The best panel work I ever had done was by a guy working on Saturdays at peoples places, he did the work and we settled at the end of the day. When I had more money I would call him for another Saturday.
Plus, with the car at home you can apply Harko's 20 minute rule.

BTW, are you going to do the lime metalflake roof?

Yeah, it was only financial that I put it up for sale, I told myself I was only listing it once, if it didn't sell, then I'd keep it.

I've only removed the panels from the driver's side, was really quite easy seeing as every third bolt was missing!!!

Spoke to the shop owner (my stepfather  ::) ) this afternoon about it and told him as the car is up against the paint wall I will wait 'til they've finished the driver's side before moving it... though if I get time before I have to go to back to work next Thursday I may go down, take off the rest, and bring the lot home and prep it here.

As it looks like it'll all be going back to bare metal, I was toying with the idea of reversing the colours of that Chevy in my sig.... whatcha think?

Few pinholes along the front edge of the bonnet, couple dents along the top of the driver's guard and filler in the boot. Surprises come when I do the doors.

Been meaning to ask Harko, what's the 20 minute rule?

Keep a list of jobs that need to be completed on your car (No matter how big or small)
And every day spend 20 mins minimum in the shed .
If you dont feel like doing anything - pick a small job.

In the long run it can get you miles ahead without even noticing, and builds up the magical motivation factor

         I have been watching yor progress and i must say when i logged on to ebay and observed yr FC for sale i was a bit shocked!!!  Im glad you are continuing as you seem to like the olskool kustom look and keep up the good work, it always pays off in the end, keep those pics and posts of up dates coming.  Im always watching with enthusiasm!!!  Cheers

Now, a word to the wise, these are rust fingerprints. This bonnet was bare metalled about a month ago and has been undercover since.... just goes to show that good preparation for paint is essential!

I had one, they were usually fitted to weber manifold wich comes out a bit wide for a FC, even on a EH they come out next to the gaurd, mine was on a log manifold I will try and find a pic. The injectoin may be more for the strip than the road but it looks pretty cool.
I saw  this set up about a year ago go for around $550.

No progress on the car, but had my surgery yesterday, quite simple procedure, hell, I don't remember a thing!

Today feels like someone has stuck some really think eyelashes down past my tear ducts, doc says I will feel them for a week or two till the stitches dissolve.

I go back to his rooms at the end of this week for an eye test, I think there already is some improvement, though they are bloody sore and I have to spend a lot of time with them closed.... feels like being at work really.

Now I have to go lay down, thank God my wife's a nurse!

              mate good luck with the recovery and i wish you all the best, just remember, get better because there is a lot of work to do on the FC to make it look as KOOL as you can.  I am about to order some dummy spots, hurry up and get better as i will need some inspiration to get my ol bomb looking good, cheers

Went back to the doc this morning, he's quite pleased with how they are healing and at this stage I can read one more line on the eye chart, go back again in 3 weeks where he will write me a letter recommending me for a Restricted Licence, which will mean I can only drive during the day and within 50k's of home   ;D

Now, to unlearn all the bad habits I've learnt while watching my wife drive ::)

You know what the hardest thing about those repairs are ? Just keeping yourself motivated ,Ive just finished doing the exact same thing and I had a good month or so staying inside  :o trying to motivate myself .

Man I love your thinking with the style and color and with the order in which you work , Hard last . I do hard first with no permanent paint or change in appearance to keep me going.

Looks like a bumper cut out there to me......., but you're right, they will change the way my car was heading, not drastically, but skirts beg for other mods, like portawalls and dummy spots maybe? :D

             They are a gair bit different to mine as I have looked at these on ebay and discussed them with HOTROD on numerous ocassions.  They are not as long and they do not have the same bit as the bottom, they look a bit like FB/EK ones, do you have any idea where he got em from??  what a bloody bargain mate!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  I thought you sold yr spotties??
