Title: Hand brake cable Post by: jaunt on April 29, 2005, 02:25:15 PM I have an fc with HR diff, but the hand brake cable does not reach the handbrake lever mount. Do i have to use an fc handbrake cable ?. If so how to attach to rear brake drum. :-/

you could just get a new cable made. I have not done this mod before and am very surprised that nobody has responded to your post. would it be possible to cut the ends off the HR cable and then drill out so you can silver solder them onto the FC cable? Here you go I thought I had seen something about this recently. Quote Handbrake cable is made by disassembling the EK and HR cables. Remove the plug ends from the HR cable that go into the backing plate, cut off the ball on one end of the EK cable and fit the HR plug ends to the EK cable ends. Punch the wire out of the removed ball and then silver solder the ball back onto the cable. The 10 mm shorter cable wont make any difference to the cable.
