Hey Spinner.
Cool pic.
Any chance you could raid the neighbours yard and get another copy of that paper for me? I would love an original of that pic.
Regards
Alex

The link to the picture is:

However, this takes you to the database.  Type 1961 into the first field, the picture is No. 15: Cabra-Vale Ex-active Servicemen's Club during floods.

I'll try for a couple of copies of the paper too.

An interesting details with this picture: it shows an FC-225 used as a taxi, but does not have the chrome fin extensions.  The car appears to be tri-toned too, with the lower quarter panels painted in the same colour as the upper mudguard.

Maybe I'm missing what you're saying.  It looks like it's got fins, certainly the LH one.  The fin extensions were used only on late '59s, with the paint scheme that had only the insert painted the secondary colour.  This car has the 'launch' paint scheme, ie 1958 arrangement.  More info here ($2).

Specials were quite common for privateer taxis, as this one appears to be.  The commercial outfits like RSL and De Luxe tended to have fleets of 217s and 215s.

cheers

With the full picture you can clearly see that the rear quarter is not painted as mentioned just covered in mud!!!!!
