Title: Poo Painter Post by: craiga on April 08, 2002, 08:33:08 AM Hey Denis,
Just because you've got a Poo car ;D ;D check this out. http://www.eposode.com/FC_Final\Flash\FE_change%20color.html Be patient if you have a slow connection - it should only take about 1 or 2 minutes to complete downloading. You can create the Poo colour FE of your dreams :o Colours may differ slightly ( or greatly :'( ) depending upon your monitor and video card. I have produced these painters for all versions of FE/FC paint schemes and will post them all shortly. You will need Macromedia Flash Version 5.0 installed on your P.C (most everybody should have this component already but you will be advised if you haven't) and Internet Explorer 5.0 and above. Any questions or problems let me know Cheers, Craig Title: Re: Poo Painter Post by: FEHOLDEN on April 09, 2002, 12:03:19 PM :) :) :) :)
GIDDAY CRAIG THANKS FOR THE PAINTING KIT. JUST A COUPLE OF QUESTIONS: HOW DO I GET THE FLASH ALONG THE SIDE? HOW DO I UPGRADE FROM STANDARD TO SPECIAL? HOW DO I POST IT ON THE BOARD? DENIS Title: Re: Poo Painter Post by: craiga on April 09, 2002, 08:07:50 PM Denis
I can add the flash specially for you if you like. I plan to produce versions that allow you to add each of the flash types produced, but it takes a bit of time to get it right. Exactly what type of flash have you got? Do you need an FE or an FC? If you want an FC, what colour scheme has your car got? Release, 1958, or 1959? You can view these in the Technical area of http://www.fefcholden.org.au/techinfo/fcpaintstyles.html Once you have created your car press the ALT + PRTSRC Keys - this will copy your image to the Windows clipboard (this won't work for Mac users, but who cares about them anyway hey RET ;) ) Then open up Windows Paintbrush (Start/Programs/Accessories/Paint) and Press CTRL + V. This will paste your image into paintbrush. Save this to a file and your nearly there. Now comes the bit where you need to post the image. You need to upload the photo to a web server - the easiest way to do this is using StarPhoto like some other guys here do. Alternately email the image to me at craig_alderson@yahoo.com.au and I'll post it for you. Any questions just let me know. Cheers, Craig. Title: Re: Poo Painter Post by: air-chief on April 09, 2002, 11:58:56 PM G'day Craig
Are you going to produce this car painter for all types of bodies? eg. van, ute&wagon. regards a-c. Title: Re: Poo Painter Post by: craiga on April 10, 2002, 12:10:29 AM a-c
Yes, if you can come over to my place and convince my wife that another 2 weeks in front of the computer is worthwhile ;D I will do it if a few people want it (it is a bit of work to do FE and FC variants) but if its just for you supply me a picture, tell me the colours, and I'll post a wagon/ute/or van in your chosen colour. Did the program work and look OK on your P.C ? Cheers, Craig. Title: Re: Poo Painter Post by: air-chief on April 10, 2002, 12:16:55 AM Hmmmm??? convice your wife. :o Nah I'll be right. ;D
Yes the the FE program worked just fine on my computer. I've also had your FC program on my computer and that was fine as well. ( the colours were a little mixed up) I didn't realise that it took so long to put this program together :o Regards airchief Title: Re: Poo Painter Post by: craiga on April 10, 2002, 12:30:07 AM a-c,
Now I have a template its not such a huge effort, its just finding time. What particular model/variant were you interested in? Title: Re: Poo Painter Post by: RET on April 10, 2002, 12:42:50 AM Quote Once you have created your car press the ALT + PRTSRC Keys - this will copy your image to the Windows clipboard (this won't work for Mac users, but who cares about them anyway hey RET ;) ) I can't help it that you poor benighted souls appreciate power, elegance and simplicity in your Holdens, yet fail to appreciate the same qualities in a computer. If you are running MacOS9, use shift-cmd-3 to take a screen shot. Under MacOSX, the utility Grab is what you need. cheers RET (Just another 5%er) Title: Re: Poo Painter Post by: craiga on April 10, 2002, 12:49:36 AM The sleeping (although brightly coloured) Mac giant awakes.
Is a Mac design over purpose, or purposeful design? ;) Title: Re: Poo Painter Post by: RET on April 10, 2002, 04:56:52 AM Try and keep up - bright colours are out, and this is in:

You won't regret it. RET Title: Re: Poo Painter Post by: craiga on April 10, 2002, 05:02:54 AM New toy for the 4% who like (dare ;) ) to be different. I'll stick with my P.C, it looks bad but always keeps me amused by the way it locks up when I least expect it. Hours of enjoyment trying to recover lost files.
Trying to get me to buy a Mac is like trying to sell an FC owner HQ-WB parts - it just won't work ;D Title: Re: Poo Painter Post by: RET on April 10, 2002, 05:22:40 AM When I feel the need for that sort of pain I can run VirtualPC on my Mac. The rest of the time I can just get on with the job, using a personal computer with an industrial strength Unix core. I can run:
What I don't do is worry about Melissa, and Code Red, and SirCam, and Nimda, and all these other viruses that the script kiddies out there are unleashing to make computer users' lives miserable. That's another benefit of being in the top 4 %. Sorry for the soapbox but I love my computer. It's a boon to my creativity (even perl programming is creative), not the bane of my existence as your description of your PC suggests. By the way, thanks again for your help getting my wiper motor installed. You're a top bloke. ;D RET Title: Re: Poo Painter Post by: craiga on April 10, 2002, 05:30:12 AM Thanks for the compliment. Wiper motor installed with pleasure, fire was free.
Could you go over the first 90 percent of your email again, but this time more slowly. ;D ;D ;D ;D Title: Re: Poo Painter Post by: air-chief on April 10, 2002, 06:58:00 AM Quote Now I have a template its not such a huge effort, its just finding time. What particular model/variant were you interested in? Thanks Craig, FC Ute would be just great. How about the option to select different wheels? ;D You guys and your computer talk, its like posting HQ parts for sale >:( If ya not careful we'll have to take the piss out of you two as well ;D :-* Cheers 8) Title: Re: Poo Painter Post by: craiga on April 10, 2002, 07:36:03 PM OK I'll do an FC ute.
I'll post it in the next week or so. Your right about the computer stuff - by the way, do you have any use for an HX grill emblem ;) Title: Re: Poo Painter Post by: RET on April 10, 2002, 11:55:59 PM Quote You guys and your computer talk, its like posting HQ parts for sale >:( If ya not careful we'll have to take the piss out of you two as well ;D :-* Cheers 8) Yeah sorry about that. In addition to having something to say about everything on this site, I also participate heavily in a couple of Mac forums. Guess I got my passions mixed. As long as CraigA doesn't bait me, I won't do it again. :-X By the way, I bought a FC LHS Guard on the weekend from a garage sale, and the bloke told me on the phone that he also had a hubcap for a Holden. When I got there he had left, but his brother was there, who told me that his instructions were that "if I was a nice bloke, to give me the hub-cap". Nice bloke notwithstanding (you know, being a Mac zealot and all), I got the hubcap as well as the guard. This anecdote is going somewhere, btw. The hubcaps's not an FE/FC one, it's off a HQ-HZ. Don't knock me down in the rush of offers - please form an orderly queue... ;D cheers RET Title: Re: Poo Painter Post by: air-chief on April 11, 2002, 04:38:01 AM :o :o :o :o :o
Quote The hubcaps's not an FE/FC one, it's off a HQ-HZ :o :o :o :o :oYou lucky thing you! ;D I had one of those many years ago and couldn't find anyone who wanted it. So I did the best thing I could and turned it upside down and used it as a dog bowl! :) Title: Re: Poo Painter Post by: RET on April 11, 2002, 04:55:29 AM air-chief,
Unfortunately I have two dogs, and they don't share nicely. (Do any?) I don't want to be in the market for another of the bloody things, but maybe someone out there ;) has one for a good price. I'll watch the Parts For Sale with interest......... However, this is my hose-reel: (http://members.optusnet.com.au/~thomasri/images/hubcap.jpg) cheers RET Title: The truth revealed Post by: michaels57 on April 11, 2002, 09:50:24 AM I am sorry to those particulars who were having a cry over me posting my notice on 'there' site but i unlike maybe them do not have a botomless pit of a pocket an d thus have to sell some things to raise the dollars for an Fe ute that is sitting in my backyard waiting for better days. in front of it stand of course my restored panelvan ;) ;) and a Ke Corralla which is also mine. We showed we could all have fun when it was warranted, but showed respect when we thought maybe it wasn't. It's a good philosophy, have a go at it, it won't hurt. Title: Re: Computer geeks Post by: michaels57 on April 21, 2002, 05:23:16 AM ??? ??? ??? ??? ???
wondering if how you guys managed to put an fe front on a hq, i am looking for a program that will generate an image that i can cut and modify to make it look like a couch and i heard there are a few of you guys out there who are really into computers and design and stuff h/w you know how it is even if it was a long time ago ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D apprecate it :) :) Title: Re: Poo Painter Post by: RET on April 22, 2002, 11:58:33 PM michaels57,
You must be kidding. When I found out how young you were, I was prepared to give you the benefit of the doubt. I do remember being 17, and figured that your comparative youth went some way towards explaining your thin skin. Whilst you triggered a lot of good natured banter about HQ-WB etc, very little of what followed was actually aimed at you personally. A couple of comments were borderline, but no-one called you names or gave you grounds for a libel suit. You had a little tantrum, and in the process told us your age. Subsequently, a number of people apologised either publicly or privately to you. Instead of accepting these apologies graciously, you start crowing: Quote ANd THEY ALL YELPED RETREAT!!!!!! AND SCOURED AWAY I bet the apologies have dried up pretty quick since then. I know I deleted the one I was writing. And now you want help? There is at least one professional graphic artist who participates here, and probably half-a-dozen amateur ones. None of them are likely to appreciate being called a geek. You've got a strange way of asking for favours. Here's your couch: (http://www.neteffex.com/gop/dunce.gif) Title: Re: Poo Painter Post by: michaels57 on April 24, 2002, 05:29:23 AM Quote michaels57, I do remember being 17, and figured that your comparative youth went some way towards explaining your thin skin. But in any case I'm not going to argue with you. It's nice for you that you have an FE or FC. It would be nice for the rest of us if you'd lose the attitude. The people who participate here are very friendly and very helpful - just read the posts - but you've managed to alienate many of them.
Here's two tips for you. 1. In answer to your 'computer geeks' question, the artistry you see on these pages is done primarily with Adobe PhotoShop. There are other tools that do similar things, but most of them are toys. 2. Log out of the 'michaels57' account, and create a new one with a new name. Just start over with a new identity. You've developed a reputation with this one, and trust me, it's not good. cheers RET |
