As you can see in the picture, it was a big relief not starting any fires with the welding. This is something I wouldn't recommend to ANYONE and in hindsight, I'd probably never do it again! At the time, though, it was worth it with a 10 hour drive in front of us, we finally made it home by midnight. The repairs at Cooma took 3 hours and once again I'd like to thank the ACT Club members for their help and support in getting me back on the road. Thanks again to Kel for the use of his garage and equipment. Special thanks too, to Coline Tierney for staying around and helping me put the car back together. The gear lever tube broke at the Adelaide Nats 1999 and l replaced it. Will cary a spare from now on. Must of been all those gear changes trying to get up all those hills to Jinabyne. Cheers Tony. Tony hope to see a few of the Tassie club members at next years FE/FC Nationals at Phillip Island would be good to have all the states represented.
