Title: Tyres - mag wheels
Post by: paddockbasher on March 31, 2005, 10:14:40 AM
As my Fc Ute inches closer to roadworthiness/registration ( so close that I can taste it!) I could use some advice regarding tyres.

It has mag wheels currently running B F Goodrich 215/50 x 13. I have a spare set of Goodyear 205/60 x 13 and also 4 original rims with basic radial tyres 165 X 13?

I require either 2 new  BFG 215/50 X 13 (which don't seem to be very cheap) or to change to the Good Years.

Has anyone run these two different tyre sizes and got any advice/experience to share. I am reluctant to go to the standard rims as subjectively I prefer the look of the wider rims.

Thanks

Personaly I am not a fan of either But I would never have BF Goodrich on any car that I drive.
So I would have to say Goodyear is the lessor of two evils.
Emus car Hilda needed tryes and we fitted Brigdestone RE92 205 x 65 x 13 Price was about $120ea and not a bad trye either.

Cheers

Thanks Sarge

I was quoted $200 a tyre for BFG so the Bridgestone option is a worthy alternative!

You could also look at something like Hankook who make a nice whitewall in a 13 " although they are only  about a 185/70 13 in WSW radial. They are a good tyre for the price. If I was going wide I would look at all the brands.
