Title: Carburettor Rebuild
Post by: navy_speed_shop on March 23, 2005, 03:19:51 AM
Going to look at carburettor rebuild next, thoughts: rebuild myself or pay?
I know that there are a few very reasonably priced shops that do this, but would it be cheaper to d.i.y? what specifically would i need?

G'day, I rebuilt my own carby when I restored the car back in 80's.

As I recall the only things I had to purchase was a jet removal tool & the carby kit.

The only thing I did wrong (I was told later) was to use gasket goo on the gaskets, apparentley you need use nothing.

Just followed the procedure as outlined in the workshop manual.

Good luck, Gary
