Title: Brake lights or taillights but not both....
Post by: paddockbasher on March 18, 2005, 12:08:58 PM
Am having issues getting brake and tail-lights to work  together.

Brake lights work fine however I have no taillights. If I run power directly to the terminal on the light switch the taillights work however there is no discernable difference when the brake pedal is pushed. Are they two separate circuits ?

Any help much appreciated! Have the workshop manual with wiring guide but obviously written for a higher intellect  :'(

Going by the circuit the brake lights and the indicators share the same circuit for each side the LH (Pink Wire) and RH (Violet Wire). The LH & RH tail lights are powered from a common circuit (Black Wire). Are you sure you're not powering the brake lights by mistake, or may not have double filament globes or globes fitted wrongly.

Hope this helps.
