Tayz,

In SA the procedure I had to go through was:  register the car, get a certificate signed by a club official, go back to the registration mob and lodge that.  Vic may be different.  Firstly, talk to your vehicle registartion mob, secondly, talk to your club.

Rules for "Conditional Registration" or "Historic Rego" vary wildly from state to state.  Tony (NascoHunter) is the Registrar for your club, get in touch with him.  I imagine your club's constitution would have the basic eligibility details in it.

In Victoria for cars over 25 years old there is the Club Permit Scheme which is best explained at:

http://www.chevcarclubvic.org.au/technical/club_permit_scheme.htm#permitsummary

or

http://www.aomc.asn.au/permits.htm

but you can only drive your car on gazetted club outings or if you have a special use permit from your Club.

Join the club, speak to Tony Galea. He will probably want a RWC,permit cost about $90.You can go on any club run, event and meeting in your car, must go to at least 2 runs a year and keep permit details and details of the run you are going to in your car.Your club newsletter will tell you what events you can go to.

Thanks for the replys and I now have a good idea what club rego entails.  Geoff I joined the club a couple of weeks ago so I am eagerly awaiting my first newsletter so I can get to one of the meetings!!  My missus has put a bit of a hold on the "fold" situation so it may take me a bit longer to get it on the road, said it had something to do with interest rates going up aparently cheers
