Title: Grey motor generator Post by: bozley on December 18, 2004, 07:57:38 AM I'm looking at buying an FC with a grey motor. Took it for a run last night after jump starting it. Problem is that is isn't holding charge. Also, the generator is making an odd sound so i'm thinking that a bearing in the generator has given up causing the slight vibration, noise and no charge (the lights go and and it just dies after 5 minutes or so). My actual question is - can i use an alternator from a red motor 6? I think they have a screw that can adjust the level of charge which could be changed accordingly. Does the generator sound like a reasonable diagnosis for the symptoms? I'm not concerned about making up brackets to get it to fit

Just rewire the generator regulator out of the loop. Ken |
