Title: Snowy mountains - 1966 Post by: Hewart on December 13, 2004, 06:34:22 AM Here are a few pics I was given to run in our latest Grey Matters... and thought I'd share 'em here too....
Pictured are John and Grace Church (friends of fellow members) on their tour of the Snowy Mountains in October 1966. They used to spend 4 weeks every year – for 20 years – travelling the countryside in their FC Holden, ‘Betsy’. First is a shot of Grace (and Betsy) relaxing on the shores of Lake Eucumbene just North of Jindabyne. John loved ‘Betsy’ and kept her in the family for 31 years until sold for $900 – with a stack of spare parts inside. Thanks to Dennis and Diane Reid for sharing this Blast from the past! I wonder if there will be any new commodores kept for 30+ years?
