Just thought I'd let you know that I have uploaded some production line photos of FE's and FC's. Also some historical photos. If anyone has similar photos that they would like to donate, please email me and I will add them to this collection for all to enjoy. Great set of photo's......Is there a book that has all of these in or are they individual photo's that you have obtained. I would love to get a copy. They pose a few questions about how they went about building cars and how a person like myself would go about putting one together after a complete strip. Colour matching would have to be pretty acurate for the guards and bonnet! Did they put door rubbers on while the doors were fitted and obviously after painting? What happened to all of the original presses that were used to make the components? The photo with the FJ Ute also had an FJ Van entering the booth (I think). I have some advertising that Richard kindly sent to me that would be good to add, or Richard may like to send them to you (don't want to step on toes if I can help it). The FE Ute and Van brochure is available on line at oldholden.com - I was planning to add more there when I get around to it.... As far as the original presses were concerned, I believe they were melted down. I'm going to add a new board in here for people to post pix of their cars (as links, as Alex has done here). Great production line pics Alex...!! Love to know where you got 'em from... A couple of them I have seen before, but most of them were new to me... I have a couple of old pics, but not many of mine are of production lines.... mine are mainly older general photos of street scenes and similar. I have tried to upload some of them to that StarPhoto thing you guys have suggested, so I hope it works OK here...?! (http://photo.starblvd.net/hewart/2-1-5.jpg) This shot is one which was used to show how "modern" the FEs were.... as they were the first Holden to have indicators, and the poor old bloke in the 48/FJ still had to use hand signals.... They come from different publications, books, magazines etc. It's been great putting them all together for all to enjoy. I don't know if you've seen this shot before, or even if it will appeal to your facination of production line pics, but I thought I'd chuck it up here anyway.... (http://photo.starblvd.net/hewart/3-1-2.jpg) It's a close up section (the whole shot is on http://photo.starblvd.net/hewart ) of where they used to press - not sure of its technical name ??? - but the bit under the windsreen that houses the air vent, between the screen and the bonnet.... this shot is of the Woodville plant acording to the caption on the back...
