Title: What Capacity ? Post by: Blown_FC on October 21, 2004, 05:17:39 AM I have a Red 202 that has 40 thou oversized bores.....does this help anyone work out roughly what capacity it now is ?
I know the cylinder head also adds to the capacity, but any help or idea would be appreciated....or at least if someone can tell me how to measure the capacity ? Thanks Mark Title: Re: What Capacity ? Post by: nicko on October 21, 2004, 05:48:17 AM im not positive but think its now a 206 cubes
Title: Re: What Capacity ? Post by: Dr_Terry on October 21, 2004, 06:39:45 AM Hi Guys.
The head has nothing to do with engine capacity, it only affects the compression ratio. To calulate the capacity of any engine, you get the bore size, then halve it to get the radius. 202 std bore is 3.625 (radius is then 1.813) add 0.20 (half of 0.40) this is 1.833. Then use this Capacity = pi X r (squared) X stroke X number of cylinders. For your engine this 3.142 X 1.833 X 1.833 X 3.25 X 6 = 205.86". Or as the man said 206 cubic inches. Dr Terry.
