Title: restore original FC radio Post by: nadine on January 17, 2002, 06:17:15 AM I have a 1959 FC Holden with the original radio. The radio does not work. Does anyone know of someone who can fix it?
OR where I can get parts/valves for it? Thanks, Nadine. Title: Re: restore original FC radio Post by: ChrisB on January 17, 2002, 09:46:39 AM 8) Nadine,
There is a guy in Canberra who restores radios and he had one done at the last swap meet in Canberra. I got him to look at mine with the view to restoring it but prices started at $450.00 and up and he replaces all the old gear with new electronics. Finished job was very good. If your interested let me know and I will chase his details for you. In Victoria we have a place called "NOSTALGIC WIRELESS CO" located at 629 Canterbury Road Surry Hills. PH. 9899 8880 or FAX 98998887. They repair all types of old radios for home and your car. A mate of mine had his non working FC air-chief radio repaired there and now its like the day it was made. ;D All things come at a cost :( Good luck with it. This guy at NOSTALGIC can convert your radio to tune into FM radio station. The radio still looks the same but you have more modern music. :D From memory my mate paid about the $350 mark for his. Nostalgic Wireless Co. sounds like a good option - might have to save some money! Thanks, Nadine.
