Title: FC Special for sale
Post by: Keg on August 04, 2004, 03:21:10 AM
Hi folks,
I only just discovered your forum. I wish I had known about it a couple of years ago.

I have a FC for sale. Two tone green similar to what Julie had advertised for sale in about May except mine is light green on top and dark green on bottom. Restored to original condition about two years ago- bare metal re-spray on exterior, new rubbers, cut some rust out etc). Original interior and original engine with 48,000 original mile on the clock with white walls that have done just 5000 miles on them in the last two years. Mechanically fantastic and runs like a dream. Rego'd until Jan 05.

Also have a couple of extras in two spare hub caps, the key protection things that go on the doors- which I haven't put on yet- as well as an original radio, which also isn't yet installed. Also have a rear venetian which will need a bit of work before putting it in.

I got the car off my uncle who lives in Riverina NSW and he got it a few years before that off the original owner. I'm selling it because its not suitable as a the 'second car' for our family when I take our other car away for a few days. We've now got two family cars and I don't have the time to give the FC the TLC she deserves.

Car is garaged in Southern Sydney.

Not 100% sure on price. I haven't researched the going prices of restored FCs overly much yet. I did have $12K in mind but this may be overly optimistic. I'm open to suggestions in this regard and I'll be doing research over the next week or so.

Ah, the only bad thing about it is one small scratch along the rear right side. I'm booking the car in to get that fixed- and may have the door thingos on then too.

Thats about it. I've provided you with as much information as I can. 0416-185-767 is my phone number if you're interested. I'm a pilot so if I don't answer or get back to you for a few days, it's because I'm away on a trip. I can probably email some piccies out to those who email me within the next couple of days.

Regards,
tony

Will do. I've been away with work so haven't had a chance to get them done yet but will sort it out over the next couple of days.

Regards.

Finally managed to get home long enough to get some piccies, get them hosted and get back to post them up.

I have a couple of interior shots if you'd like them but they're currently not hosted. I'd have to email them.

Good afternoon all,

I'm just wondering if anyone has looked at this car & if so, what did you think of it for the price? (I'm not sure I should write up the price here as the owner hasn't. It's less than his original guesstimate of $12K)
I've had a look and I'm in love-how cool are column shifts! ;D , but I'm a bit hesitant about the price.
I'm a complete newbie at classic cars, especially buying them.
Thanks.

If you want a guide on prices, have a look at the Trading Post prices that are posted in the Auction links section of this forum.  If you think the car is too dear for you, don't buy it.

Ironic about this post going on today. I had been very neglectful in keeping this thread up to date.

Car went on the market in Just Cars in December after I did some research and worked out a more precise price. I sold it today for $9300. It's moving from Sydney to Parkes.

Thanks for your interest.
