Title: FC ute on TV show 'Cruzin'

Watching Cruzin on telly the other night.
Nice FC ute owned by a guy called Dominic who ended up buy his dads ute after it had passed through the hands of at least 3 owners and restoring it.
His dad originally purchased the ute new in August 1959.
Here are numbers for Ken, ID plate was shown so i guess it's public info now.

No engine or chassis # shown but he did say it was assembled in Perth.
Dominic said that they were only assembled in Perth and QLD, is this true?
Letter of city at end of chassis #, P for Perth and i would presume B for Brisbane.

His quote is very easily misinterpreted, that's for sure.

It's true in the sense that no Holdens were manufactured in Perth or Brisbane (or NZ for that matter).  FEs and FCs were manufactured in Sydney, Melbourne or Adelaide, and a proportion of those were shipped CKD to the other locations for local assembly.  So his comment should be read to mean "they weren't manufactured, only assembled in Perth and Qld".

But it does read that he could be suggesting that all utes came from Brisbane or Perth, which is obviously not the case.

The tag identifies it as manufactured in Adelaide, anyway.  It's described in full in the Tech Info section, but basically the letter on the end of the body number tells you the factory at which the car was manufactured, and the letter on the end of the chassis number tells you where it was assembled.  The only caveat to this is that all FEs (the 3 sedans) manufactured prior to September 1956 have no letter on the end of their body number, because only Adelaide was manufacturing them.  The other two factories continued to pump out FJ utes and vans until they began pressing FE bodies in mid-September.
