What are high kick pistons? Title: Re: FE's & FC's for sale Post by: 4hammers on July 29, 2004, 10:07:11 AM Burnsy,
Most probably "Hi-Top" pistons. They are domed, so as to increase compression. I have a set called "Weslites". They are a bit too lumpy for my car though! Rare & hard to find nowadays. Nice find, Trev!. Man, if only I had a time machine! Rob, I did not know that aftermarket pistons were made for the greys, were westlite the only ones to make them and are they easy to spot? Title: Re: FE's & FC's for sale Post by: 4hammers on July 29, 2004, 10:25:16 AM Man,
You have no idea what they made for the Greys. Everything! Big pistons, tough cams, alloy everything, Big stailess valves manifolds, hot heads (Repco Crossflows, Waggot twin cams, dunstan rotary valve heads), Superchargers....the list goes on. Yes, the pistons are easy to spot, as ong as you know what grey piston looks like. The have a half dome on the top. They really boost the compression & that is why I can't use mine on my motor. It is Norman supercharged. There are a couple of us on this ssite who are quite into Hot Grey stuff. Tony C (IhadaV8) introduced me to the wonderful world of Grey hot bits! Sorry for hijacking this thread, Trev. Burnsy, email me if you want some shots of good grey stuff. Rob J |
