the race is on althought emu got the jump on me i hopefully havent been slowed down by as much rust as emus !!!!!!!!

frt subframe and inner gaurds done now to be sanded and painted any idea what colour it should be body cloour or black???

frt lower grill panel rebuilt with fresh bhp steel good for another 48 years and of course coated with ripo to stop rust

all un boltable panels soon to head of to the dip strippers  my prefered option as it dosnt damage the panels
sent my whole ek to dipstripper !!!!!!!!!

Well Well the gauntlet has been thrown and the race is on.

Two flightless birds going at it again.

"Sarge" all I can say is that EMU has an added advantage, You do know that bastardisation is still ok in the FC makeover workshop and OH&S is not to be considered. Work that Emu hard and long.
"WE Must Not Be Beaten" You can however beat him with a stick to make him work.

   Its only a Kiwi that we are taking on, this has never really been a great challenge to us Aussies before. So at this stage I can still sleep to lunch time and knock off at 3.00pm and have one hand tied behind my back. ;D

well kiwis makeover team is workin double shifts and progressing well very very well sarge is flyin over next weekend to help out too (dont tell the emu)
and with all the new kiwi steal goin in should be finished long before emus car

Could you let me know how your welder gets on, as I am interested in knowing how you weld wool to steel. ;) Never done this before myself. I dont imagine yous would have much of anything esle over there to use. :-*

Whaddyer mean weld?  All you do (I think :D :D) is push wool in hole, get soldering iron and melt solder into wool.  While solder is still hot, press into shape. ;)

              Sarge still working on Hilda. Emu is having computor trouble at the moment his monitor died, & has left the updates up to me. I am sorry that there has not been any as I have just been to busy. But I must say Hilda does look a lot better having a bit of colour back in her checks.

Thanks guys but we knew from the start what Sarge and Emu were up to, they must have been planning this one for ages you see they thought if they kept my husband busy reading and replying to what they were posting that it would put our resto behind. WELL THEY WERE WRONG. See Ive been the one doing the grave yard shift. Each night Ive been out there grinding and welding and repairing the fc .
Little do they know the work has been progressing.
Some of you might know I too was on the Goldcoast recently and saw hilda the brasin hussy that she is showing all her pink bits (and in front of the kiwis).
Now I hope you lads have clothed her in a coat of paint and made her respectable again

yep left the front end in al though trev (robbzfc58 reckons better if you make proper axle and draw bar for towing )so will probablly do that

Hey Kiwi, heres an idea...why not convert the old Brake Master cyclinder and Clutch Cyclinders into OIL and SAUCE...then all you have to do is rig up a hand pump thingy ( a cheap window wiper pump or something )tehn you can  squirt a bit of oil on the plate before you cook, and then squirt some sauce on the snags when they are done !

Maybe you need to install an exhaust fan in the cowl vent ;D

Seriously, I think Trev's HK version has modified bonnet hinges that allow the bonnet to stand almost vertical (like the later Cortinas).  Something to think about.

kiwi....i guess theres been nothing happening on the fc while kaths been building the FC-B-QUE.    i reckon ewe need to lift the bbq unit or get longer legs..to make things more convenient.
I hope your gonna put the LP tag on the number plate!
ret ..  my car-b-que has stnd hk hinges..maybe they lift higher than fc

Nothing since Nov, Emu has made great progress on Hilda, but I suppose he can reach a lot higher than a rotundent  pigmy flightless bird.
