Kalfe,

Do you want tail lights with painted surrounds or chrome surrounds?

If chrome, do you intend to rechrome, or are you looking for a set to bolt straight on?

Do you want orange or clear lens?

I think there is a fibreglass spare wheel door on eBay at the moment. You may be hard pressed to find a steel one.

Regards

Edward

Kalfe,

That's fine. I'll look this weekend, I have a box full of them.

You might want to give some thought to the balance of the questions I asked, as there are different variations with regards to how your tail lights are set up, when it comes to lenses.

Generally, commercials were not fitted with indicators, therefore they had a red lense for brake/tail light and clear lens that was non functional.

Early Specials and upgraded commercials and Standards that had indicators fitted still used the red lens for indicating, and the clear lens for optional reverse lights.

Later cars had orange lens instead of clear and used these for indicators.

I'm guessing you would want the later combination, but please confirm, if you want me to look for what I have this weekend,

Regards

Edward

Rare Spare are now doing a "NEW" repo spare wheel door in fibreglass. From all accounts they are the best thing since sliced bread and fit like a glove. Apparently the mould was taken from a NOS door.

I think streetneat has one fitted to his car and so do a couple of other club members. I think it was the old repo model that the lock did not fit but do not quote me.

The R/S new door was taken from a excellent second hand unit (mine).  The lock should fit perffectly now.  It did not fit well in the old door.

There's no difference between early and late blinker bodies, only the lower lens varies.  Either clear or orange is available from Rares for about $20 a pop, if memory serves.

The main difference in the bodies is whether they're painted or chromed, which I appreciate you've already answered your preference for.

cheers
