Title: Torana Suspended FC
Post by: Spinner on July 01, 2004, 11:35:15 AM
Probably been talked about before...

Any ideas or experience in fitting a UC Torana front crossmember & suspension to an FE/FC?  I thought it might be a good idea because you get RTS (Mk II) and Rack & Pinion Steering.

Fitting the trailing arm rear and might be a tad difficult though.

Title: torana front under FC.

Ive seen a Torana front under Ahmet the Mad Turks HD ute.

the bolt holes dont align properly with the subframe, and i reckon it looks bodgey (big plates and bolts), Ahmet reckons its fine, and the ute goes hard so...???

I cant shed any light on the angle the x member sits and subsequent effects on castor angles etc.

the trailing arm rear wouldn't be too hard to apapt, but I would scratch build a 4 bar for less stuffing about.

Cheers

Ed

i have just seen some photo's of EH sedan with Torana LH front end and they cut crossmember in half and widened it by 2 inches by welding in steel plates
