Title: folding seat
Post by: robbzfc58 on June 19, 2004, 10:10:38 PM
lay-back seat as disscussed in recent thread
it appears that the back seat must be moved for this one to lay flat?

Great pic, Trev.  Haven't seen that one before.  The bed still doesn't look all that comfortable, does it?  And she'd be a bit droughty with no back door... ;D

cheers

With no regulations on alcahol and driving influenced by it , I guess this was the upmarket arrangement for its day .
Slightly more comfortable than the paddock..

Check the way the back seat cushion has been tipped forward to make it look like it's a flat surface to lay on.

I have never laid mine right back, will have to do so and see if it fits without lifting the rear seat.

My old man said they were poular at th driveins ;)

Another one of Trev's gems that resurfaced :)

I can say that since my original post on this thread i have laid the seat down and it does not lay right back without hitting the rear seat and they are great at the drives - especially for short arses like me as the front seat back sits nicely behind my knees when I sit on the back seat.

i found that it worked well if you moved the seat right forward and then folded it back, i have a wagon now wish i had one in that it would look cool

I had the pleasure of a trip to the wreckers at Cooma today, and theres an FE wreck there with one of these folding seats.  I didn't try to make the mechanism work, but the seat is pretty sound, although the upholstery is not much good.  It has a cover still fitted over the original upholstery, but even so would need re-doing.
A little gem maybe for someone keen.
Cheers,
David

And now there's one on ebay at

http://cgi.ebay.com.au/HOLDEN-FE-CAMPING-SEAT_W0QQitemZ4572268336QQcategoryZ32058QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

Its in better condition than the one at the wreckers at Cooma, that's for sure.
