Title: Bucket Seats in FC
Post by: Leigh (Guest) on July 18, 2001, 12:00:00 PM
Does anyone know what bucket seats fit into an FC without too many mods. I don't want to fit Recaro or SAAS type seats, something from another model or make even. They will need to be big enough to support a medium to large arse but narrow enough to allow fitting of inertia reel seatbelts. Thanks, Leigh

To do the modification properly and to satisfy an engineer, i modified the floor by constucting box sections to level the floor under each seat runner. It wasnt that difficult just took a bit of time. I used HR buckets in my car because i did not want a head rest. VK Commodore seats would also have worked and been alot more comfortable but any bucket should suit.

Leigh,
I used LJ Torana buckets (mine are out of a 2-door, so they flip forward - which has been occasionally useful when carrying something large in my sedan.  Probably not a big deal with a wagon).
Similar mounting arrangement to Rod's.  I like these seats because they are low-back and only a smidge higher than the stock bench seat, so they don't look out of place.  Like the HQ-HJ buckets, they have the easily removable triangular head-rests, so you can have the head-rests in place when on a long drive, but take them out when you don't want the dicky looking things on display ;-)
Hope that helps, RET
