The formulae for the paint are available to club members, which is why you're not finding them. As a general rule they are only very broadly indicative of the actual colour, as they are based on the tints used for nitrocellulose (or lead-enamel) paints used on these cars originally. Using the same formulation for two-pack or even acrylic is only going to give a close approximation. My tip to you is to get the colour matched from the car. If it's driveable, well and good. If not, take a front door to a paint professional who offers the service. You should be able to find examples of both exterior colours on the inside of the door frame and under the door trim that has not been weather-affected. (For those with an FC Special, the same tip applies, except with a back door, as both colours can be found underneath the external diagonal trim. Single-tone cars, like utes and vans, the inside of the glove-box lid is the shot.) If you have already had the car dipped/stripped/blasted or otherwise denuded of colour, or are painting it non-original colours, you might be stuck with using the enamel formula for something close. Hope that helps, RET Title: Re: paint mixing codes... Post by: Spinner on June 10, 2004, 10:55:57 AM Alright,
It was an atrocious pun. Col asked for the code, so I told him the Japanese Code of Bushido. I think that Samurai followed it. Spinner Title: Re: paint mixing codes...
