Thanks for the great Photo's, as owner of other Holden models (FJ and Ek) I personally appreciate these as much as the FE FC shots!
(incidently I am looking at an FC at the moment too!)
P.S. did you notice in your photo's all the cool shades of grey (antique platinum) colours they had back then! hehe   ;D

Hi Alex.
Man, keep them coming. I had seen a couple of these on the archives, but they just seem to keep coming. Each time you look, there are more.
I appreciate any early model Holden, so if there are no knockers, I vote to post pictures of ANY early model.

If you look closely at that FJ postie van, you will note the splash shield were the old passenger door was. Also, you may be able to see some sort of obstruction inside the car, that is blocking a clear view out the rear window. That is the cargo barrier. They had a bucket seat for the driver & a small fold away seat for a passenger. The partition could be closed to secure the baggage.
Man, I would love to restore a PO van.

A little of topic. There is a couple of bloody rare FB/EK's on Ebay at the moment. An Army ute (Special compliance plate) & a 3 door & barn hatched rear door panel van.

Both are super rare. Pity they weren't FE or FC.

Alex,

I have to agree with everyone else, keep 'em coming.  I'd go that bit further and say include other brands of vehicles, these pictures are a form of social & cultural history which I'd suggest everyone enjoys.

Cheers

      Alex,

Ditto for me to, i love all these old holden pics,
as i have just recently aquired a FJ 56 special sedan
for the princley sum of $300 including a nasco radio,
how could i refuse it. Just another project to sit with
my 50-2106 ute, FC panel vans, FE driver,
HG 350 Brougham, and the other week i found
another FC windowless van which im trying my
hardest to own its 98% complete woo hoo!

Don lofflers book she' a beauty has a bit on those
PMG vans. A interesting read with some great
photos, including one of a new FE in company
of an FJ ute & sedan doing a creek crossing.

      cheers Scott

Alex:
Would you have a photo of a street scene circa '59 ?
That would really clear the cobwebs! Cheers old-blu

Hey Kevin.
Check out some of earlier posts. Myself and others have posted lots of pics depicting the way it was back in 59.
