Title: Re: fiinned rocker cover Post by: Glenn 'Stinky' Stankevicius on May 20, 2004, 07:33:56 AM How much are you willing to pay?
You can still get them new, Kilkenny Castings in SA make them. They may even be available through Rare Spares. Title: Re: fiinned rocker cover Post by: smithy on May 20, 2004, 09:22:35 PM cheers stinky, i have also seen them new but going for around the $200.00 mark?????????? ??? just a little too much at the moment for some pretty bits.
thanks i'll keep my eyes open, you never know whats around the corner or in the next box ;D ;D dean Title: Re: fiinned rocker cover Post by: Glenn 'Stinky' Stankevicius on May 20, 2004, 11:02:56 PM I picked up an old Thomas rocker cover on eBay a while ago for about $100, I got lucky and I would've gone to $200 'coz that was the style I was after.
Holparts/Rare Spares in Wingfield SA had a finned alloy cover for $100, but it was the black style and it would've cost another $100 to polish. Scout around a few wreckers, maybe call one of those Wrecker Hotlines and get them to put a call out for one. You never know what some of these guys have squirreled away. Title: Re: fiinned rocker cover Post by: smithy on May 20, 2004, 11:09:13 PM cheers mate i'll give them a try. you never know your luck in a big town...

I think the Thomas brand is the precursor to Speco-Thomas. I may be wrong though. Title: Re: fiinned rocker cover Post by: Phantom on May 21, 2004, 02:07:25 AM Hey Smithy , i am getting old ,just noticed your car maaate what a great colour , purple and proud welcome aboard , Cheers "the phantom".

I'd be sniping this one if I hadn't collected everything individually already. Then again, the 186 in the FC could do with a tidy up ;D Title: fiinned rocker cover Post by: smithy on May 25, 2004, 02:35:51 AM well what are you after stinky ?
i only need the rocker cover, but could grab the oil pump cover aswell if not needed. maybe we can combine and secure it.. dean Title: Re: fiinned rocker cover Post by: Glenn 'Stinky' Stankevicius on May 27, 2004, 04:53:23 AM Thanks Smithy, but I have built up the collection I need, only took a couple years :) The FC will wait, I don't want two projects on the go.
You wont have any trouble getting rid of the other bits, or store them for later. Title: Re: fiinned rocker cover Post by: smithy on May 27, 2004, 09:23:31 PM no worries there mate, checked the other day and price is starting to climb quite quickly.

personally i pulled out of looking at it well before the $200 mark. at the moment there are dozens of other things on my car that i could spend $200 on. anyone got any 15' moon discs? ;D dean |
