Title: Guard Bolts
Post by: Glenn 'Stinky' Stankevicius on May 11, 2004, 10:52:32 AM
Does anyone know where to get stainless guard bolts? The closest I got today was like the original but with a longer thread and smooth top part of the shaft or a phillips head  screw.

Ive used Mr Stainless..

I welded nuts under the guard tho, as I couldnt find the original thread type.

Cheers

gday
rare spares in sydney does a chrome bolt and washer that is almost identical to the original.it works well as it is a metric 10mm head and as u know it is similar to a self tapper so it sort of retaps the hole ,makes i nice and tight, i did my fc ute..looks great

Thanks MOH, not quite what I am after, but if all other enquiries fail I'll take that option.

hey stinky, all i did with all my guard bolts was clean them up and sent them away to the platers, cost $1.00 per bolt and they came up a treat.
i have also seen hex key bolts used. i know its far but there is a company in canberra called specialty fastners, these guys have or can get anything. i can give them a call for you if you want?

Try "Stainless Bitz".   They advertise in Aussie Hot Rod mags.  I talked to them about some other bolts but he did say that he does have the guard bolts that you're after in stainless.    ph number is (07) 5491 76 88
or mob 0403 265 938.
Good luck'
